NEW CUNARD LINER

MAURETANIA LAUNCHED SHIP CONSTRUCTION RECORD LONDON, July 28 The now 30.000-ton liner Mauritania was launched by Ladv Bates, wife of the chairman of the Cunard Line, in the presence of a large gathering at Caimncll Lairds yards, Birkenhead, today.

Nearly 17,000 tons of hteel were built into her in 12 months.
