OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP The Auckland open billiards championship was continued last evening at Messrs. Barton and McGill's billiards hall with a gaum between J. Molloy and E. W. Warren. Warren played excellent billiards and made breaks of .11, 'J'J and 'JI twice. He held the lead for more than halfway, when Mollo.v settled down and, playing brilliantlv. with breaks of 39, 38, 35, 30, 127 and "8 won by a good margin. H. A. Massey will play A. Moon at 7.30 this evening. DEFEAT OF CHAMPION [BY TEHJGRAVH PKKSS ASSOCIATION"] WELL IXGTO X, Friday Hie Xew Zealand amateur billiards champion and holder of the Wellington title. 8. L. Moses, was defeated to-night in the tinal of the Wellington amateur championships by 500 points to 'J7O by C. E. L'eek, champioii in 1035 aud liKUi. Moses had a poor run and never settled down. Mis best breaks were 37, 'JB, J7 and '_>(>. Peek early established a commanding lead and tho further the game went, the further he went ahead. He made I) breaks of over '_'o, the best being 11, :>o, -_'B (twice), and 25 (twice). His average for the session was 10.
