FUNCTION AT TIRAU AUCKLAND EAST RIFLES ATTRACTIVE DECORATIONS The annual ball of tho Okoroire Troop of tlx- Auckland (Fast Coast) Mounted RiHcs was liold in the 'lirau Town Hall this week and was a brilliantly successful function. There was a very large attenilance of visitors lroiu all the surrounding centres, and in addition to the dancers there were many .spectators.

The hall had been decorated in a colour scheme of red and white. A canopy of twisted streamers had been arranged overhead and large clusters of balloons Mere centred at intervals round the sides of the hall, alternately with piinga fronds and other greenery. The front of the stage hail been draped with the regimental colours. Blight military two-steps were included in the dance programme, also a number of novelty dances lor which prizes were awarded. .1 he secretary for the dance was Sergeant K. Dee, who was largely responsible lor the success of the ball, aided by an energetic committee. Sergeant T. Dodd was in charge of the floor arrangements and the committee responsible for the dance programme comprised Major Stuart, Sergeant K. Dei', I rooper C. Campbell and Corporal A. Scott.
