RAILWAY LINES CLEARED
WATER RECEDES RAPIDLY NORMAL RUNNING TO-DAY Trains on lines north of Auckland were operating with certain speed restrictions after eight o'clock last night, and it was exacted that by this morning a normal running schedule would be observed. Pasengers and freight on the expresses to and from Auckland had to bo transhipped at Kaiparu Flats yesterday on to a small pilot train that was able to negotiate the Hooded portions of the line, but toward the latter part of the afternoon the water receded rapidly, and in the early part of the evening the line was clear of water. The train from Whangarei, which usually arrives at Auckland at 5.20 p.m., did not reach here until 8.57 last night.
