CENTENNIAL EXHIBITION MOUNT EDEN'S CONTRIBUTION A deputation representing the Auckland Provincial Court on the Centennial Committee, and consisting of Messrs. J. A. C. Allum and L. 1). Xatlian, waited on the Mount Kden Hot •ough Council at Tuesday night's meeting to urge the council's support of the proposed court. Explaining the details of the plan, Mr. A Hitm said that lie felt it imperative that every effort should he made to secure an adequate representation for the Auckland Province. The estimated cost of £BOOO was, according to his information, less than that of any of the main southern provinces and in view of the comparative failure of th > Auckland court in the Duncdin and South Seas Exhibition in l!l~'l, no effort should be spared to make the present undertaking a success. The matter was referred to the financial committee for a report, members expressing the opinion that further consideration was needed before any action was taken. The council's contribution was assessed at £2OG.
