KNITTED CARNATIONS
(CARNATIONS knitted in silk are the only artificial flowers von see nowadays on fur coats. In every boulevard, at all smart parties, bunches of them nestle against backgrounds of American broadtail, ermine, squirrel, or moleskin. To be really smart they must be in "dead" colours —a wishy-washy faded green, an anaemic pink and a sort of rain-washed blue.
