MRS. N. BUCHANAN The death lias occurred of Mrs. Ellen Buchanan, wife of Mr. X. Buchanan, of Fairfield, Hamilton, at the age of 68 years. Born in Middlesex, England. Mrs. Buchanan came to New Zealand I at the age of seven years. She was well I known in the Rangitikei, Manawatu and Waikato districts. Mrs. Buchanan is survived by her husband and four daughters. MRS. E. 0. MARKHAM [from OIU OWN cokukspondknt] HAMILTON, Friday The death has occurred at Hamilton of Mrs. Emily Clifton Markham, widow of the late Captain .Nigel Ivan Markham. Mrs. Markham was born in Auckland, where .she lived practically all her life. Mrs. Markham was closely associated "with her sister, the Into Miss Evelyn Firth, after whom the Evelyn Firth Home in Auckland is named, in promoting Bed Cross work during the war and in nursing invalid soldiers. NEILSEN [BY TKI.KGKAI'H —TRESS ASSOCIATION] HASTINGS, Friday The death lias occurred of Mrs. Hajis Neilsen, of Norse wood, who was principally responsible for the introduction of the health stamp scheme into New Zealand.. She was 6G years of age. Mrs. Neilsen, who was born in Denmark, came to New Zealand with her husband and children 30 years ago. With the assistance of Sir George Hunter and the co-operation of the Government, she introduced the stamp scheme for the establishment of children's health camps. Thjs system she had seen employed successfully in Denmark. MR. A. M. OHURTON [BY TKI.KG It A I'll OWN COIt It KSI'ON DICNT] WAIHI, Friday The death has occurred in the Waihi Hospital of Mr. Alex. Maitland Churton, of Silverton Koad, Waihi, in his -Wth year. Mr. Churton went to Wnikino 32 years ago under engagement to the Waihi Goldmining Company and later worked in Waihi in the electrical shops of the Waihi Grand .Juneton Gold Company. He served overseas with the Now Zealand Kifle Brigade. At the time of his dentil he was a member of the electrical staff of the Martha Goldmining Company. Ho is survived by his widow, a daughter and two young sons.
