, TAKAPTJNA SOCIETY TROPHIES PRESENTED ELECTION OF OFFICERS The annual meeting of the Takapuna and District- Horticultural Society was held at the Returned Soldiers' Hall, Takapuna, on Monday night. Dr. J. Garfield Stewart presided. The following officers were elected:— Patrons, the Mayor of Devonport, Mr. 11. F. W. Meikle; the Mayor of Takapuna, Mr. J. Guiniven, Mrs. H. C. Bennett, Mrs. J. Williamson, Miss L. E. Davies, Mr. A. K. McFarlane, Mr. T. C. Farquharson, Mr. H. Corbett, Mr. E. W. Alison, Mr. A. Dicker; president, Dr. J. Garfield Stewart; vice-presidents, Mrs. Percv Robertson, Major H. S. Whitehorn, * Mr. H. N. Leefe, Rev. D. M. Cattanach; lion, treasurer, Mr. J. C. Lewis; lion, secretary, Mrs. C. Cameron; hon. auditor, Mr. P. Cammell; committee, Mrs. J. Garfield Stewart, Mrs. George Winstone, Mrs. H. Corbett, Miss Barton, Dr. C. W. Parr (chairman), Mr. W. H. Rushbrook, Mr. R. Haythorne, Mr. A. McDonald, Mr. Redpath. The trophies won in the past season wore awarded as follows: —Kolin Cup for the monthly points competition, Mr. and Mrs. 11. N. Leefe; honours prize, Mrs. Percy Robertson; appreciation prize, Miss D. Somerville; best bowl or vaso of flowers, Mrs. C. Arthur; exhibit of fruit, Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Leefe; exhibit of vegetables, Dr. C. W. Parr.
