BOAM) OF DIRECTORS ASSOCIATION REPORTS WORLD COUNCIL DELEGATE The monthly meeting of the board of directors of the Young Women's Christian Association was presided over by Mrs. T. Derrick in tho absence of Mrs. M. It mid. It was announced that Mrs. Rudd intended to visit Canada and attend the World's Council meeting as one of New Zealand's members. Mrs. Budd, who will leave by the Niagara on August 0, will bo accompanied by Miss Gertrude Owen, late national general secretary in Malaya, who will arrive from Australia tho previous day.
Arrangements were inado for the annual meeting to be held on August 8. It will take the form of a farewell to Mrs. Budd, and Miss Owen will bo the guest speaker. Interesting letters were received from Miss Nessie Monerieff, who is the New Zealand Young Women's Christian Association representative in Shanghai. Tho World Fellowship Fair, which helps to support Miss.Monerieff's work, will bo held shortly. Gratification was expressed at the generous gifts of two friends of the association, which had made possible the renovation of tho outside of the building and of the social room. The room will bo set aside for the use of senior and business girls, and the business and professional members of the association. It was reported that there was a possibility of Miss Jean Begg visiting Auckland toward the end of July, and it was proposed to hold a reception and women's gathering in her honour. The All-Association Council, which includes a representative from each section of tho association, was attended by about 65 members at its meeting. The council considered tho invitation of the Sydney Young Women's Christian Association to participate in a sports tournament to be held in April next year. Beports of tho various activities all showed an encouraging increase in membership.
