LECTURER'S OPINION "Man to-day needs to understand the human body and its dietetic requirements," said Dr. Herbert Sutcliffe. opening his first series of public lectures on the philosophy of "radiant living" at the Lewis Eady Hall last evening. "In spite of the efforts of scientists, industrial and political leaders, distress, poverty, strife, hatred and war are still rampant," the speaker continued. "Intellectuality has failed to solve the crying needs of humanity. There is an abundance of precious metals and moneys, but financial stagnation still exists; plenty of work to bo done, but millions unemployed. "It is fair to assume that most people have left the search for power, protection and peace to governments, diplomats and the like. It is also fair to say they have failed to find an adequate solution. Governments do not remove poverty and strife, diplomats have not learned how to prevent war. "Why not?" the speaker asked. "Because it is obvious that if the qualities of peace, love, harmony, health and prosperity for which man yearns are possible, then the leaders have not found the laws which can produce those desirable qualities of life. The science and philosophy of radiant living can do this," Dr. Sutcliffe concluded. A further lecture will he given tonight at the Lewis Eady Hall.
