Mr. C. G. Macindoe left for Welling, ton by last night's limited express. Dr. J. A. Watson returned by the early express from Wellington on Saturday. Mr. H. E. Barrowclough returned from Wellington by the early express on Saturday. Mr. M. F. Vigeveno hns been officially recognised as Vice-Consul for the Netherlands at Wellington, states the Gazette. Mr. Justice Reed left by last night's limited express for Hamilton, to preside at the criminal sessions, which open there to-morrow. Mr. T. C. Bowker has been appointed deputy-registrar of births, deaths and marriages at Auckland, according to a notice 111 the Gazette. Mr. P. McFarlane, A.M.LC.E., of Auckland, and Mr. G. K. Armstrong, 8.E., of Rangitata, have been appointed as assistant engineers to the Dunedin City Council. Mr. J. A. Messrs. \V. T. Anderton, A. S. Richards, C. R. Petrie, A. 0. Osborne and F. W. Schramm, M.P.'s, arrived by train from Wellington on Saturday. Mr. Osborne left by the limited express last night for Wellington.

The Uev. L. A. North, who has been minister of the Oxford Terrace Baptist Church, Christchurch, for seven and a-half years, will roign shortly to become general secretary of the New Zeaiaml Baptist Union and Missionary Society. Sub-Lieutenant L. King, of the Auckland Division of the. Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, has been' Gazetted lieutenant. It is also announced that Lieutenant E. Cameron and PaymasterLieutenant E. N. Lowther have resigned. Mr. Charles Douglas, for many years secretary of the company, has been appointed assistant general manager of the Hawke's Bay Farmers' Co-operative Association, Limited. Mr. E. J. Phillips has been appointed secretary. Mr. George Kelly remains general manager of the company. Mr. Allan J.
