STEADY IMPROVEMENT FURTHER REST NECESSARY PARTY AT THE PALACE QUEEN TO BE PRESENT By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright LONDON, July 11 The King's physicians, Viscount Dawson of Penn and Sir John Weir, saw His Majesty to-day, after which it was officially stated that his condition had improved since his mild attack of gastric influenza. It is necessary, however, that he should rest for a few days. Queen Elizabeth has arrived at Buckingham Palace from Windsor Castle.
A subsequent official announcement from the Palace stated that the presentation party would be held there to-morrow as arranged. The Queen will be present alone. It is understood that Her Majesty did not intend to be present owing to the recent death of her mother, the Countess of Strathmore, but she has now decided to attend in order not 10 disappoint the guests. OPENING OF HOSPITAL DUKE TO OFFICIATE (Received July 12, 5.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY. July 11 The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester will fulfil an engagement for Their Majesties at Birmingham on Thursday, when, in place of the King, the Duke will open the new £1,000,000 hospital centre.
