Marwick. For the quarter ended June 30 of maintaining the institution was £6879, as compared with £5784 for the corresponding period last year. The board decided to sell by tender the farm property at Waikiekie, bequeathed to it under the will of the late Mr. H. J. J. Neville. Control of this property will be handed to the board by the Public Trustee within a few* weeks. At the suggestion of the board's architect, Mr. A. P. Morgan, the work of additions to the hospital, which will cost £32,641, will be divided into seven sections, so that, as soon as the builder has completed a section, it can be taken over by the board. The first building to be finished will be the laundry block, which should be available next month. It is expected that it will be February, 1940. before all the buildings have been completed. Mr. R. Weston, who for a number of years has been assistant-engineer at the hospital, was appointed engineer, a position he lias tempornrilv occupied during the past two months.
