CHINESE RELIEF FUNDS
COLLECTIONS IN AUCKLAND More than £IOO was subscribed by Auckland Chinese as a result of a collection taken in conjunction with the day of semi-fasting on Friday, when the conclusion of the first year of the Sino-Japanese War was commemorated. It is expected that this figure will be greatly increased when the suburban and country collections are received by the organisers. Chinese residents in Auckland are contributing a levy from their earnings and this money is being forwarded with other collection funds to China to be used for various relief measures.
