LABOUR PARTY
WHENUAPAI BRANCH SUCCESSFUL DANCE A successful dance was held by the Whenuapai branch of the Labour Party in the local hall on Saturday evening. Pastel - coloured streamers, balloons and ferns made attractive decorations. .Modern and old-time dances wero much enjoyed by the gathering. During the evening, the Minister of Justice, the lion. 11. G. H. Mason, who is M.P. lor the district, visited the hall, and was enthusiastically received. Alter brief speeches had been made Mr. 11. North moved a vote of confidence in Mr. Mason and in the Labour Government. Mrs. Marcus Jones, secretary of the branch, acted as hostess. She wore a frock of blue satin beautc. Her daughter. Miss W. Jones, who wore floral blue tafli'tas, assisted her. The ladies of the social committee were responsible for the catering. They comprised the secretary. Mrs. Mickey, and Mesdanies Sintim, MeGaughey, Ciuerin, Misses Perkins and W. Jones. Among those present? were:—Alesdames Stilton, Guerin, .Hutt, E. Sulliva.n. 0. S. Anderson, H. J. North, sen.. McGaughev, Mickey, Meek, Mi SS«'*S Molly Nolan. Perkins, McKay, ('. Ilutt, Pooks, E. Marcroft, M. O'Learv and Teasdale.
