Barnett—Smith. —The engagement is announced of Lorna Edith, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Smith, Rahiri Road, Mount Eden, to Henry Leslie, second son of Mr. and the late Mrs. B. Barnett, of Penrose. Brown—Bird.—The engagement is announced between Gladis Helen, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Bird, Ayr, North Queensland, Australia, and David (late of Huntl.v), second son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Brown, Kirkcaldy, Fifeshire, Scotland. Buchanan Sheffield. The engagement is announced between Margaret, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Sheffield, of Hillsborough, and Malcolm James, third son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Buchanan, of Orakau Avenue, Epsom. Greenaway—Carlson.—The marriage is arranged, to take place in England shortly, of Miss Blanche Carlson, of Okoroire, to Flight-Lieutenant A. Greenaway, of Waikanae, at present serving in the Royal Air Force. Lee—Shaw. —Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Shaw, Claude-lands, Hamilton, announco the engagement of their eldest daughter, Joan Earlyn, and Alan Macpherson, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Lee, Remuera, Auckland. Mills—Whitehead.—The engagement is announced between Alice Mary, youngest daughter of Mrs. G. E. Whitehead, Claudehmds, Hamilton, and Harry Hoy Mills, eldest son of Mrs. M. Mills, Seddon Koad, Hamilton.
