[from Ol'R OWN cohkkspoxdknt] HAMILTON, Wednesday The lounge of the Waikato Lyceum Club was bright with lovely bowls of - Iceland poppies, pink flowers, scarlet k berries and foliage last night, when a large number of members attended a partly hold to celebrate the twelfth Y birthday of the club. Ihe president, Mrs. Hugh Douglas, s. expressed her appreciation at the number of older members present. Referring - to the success of the club. Mrs. Doug- ® las praised the work of the committee, id members and staff throughout the *"• year. - A musical programme was presented bv the following:—Mrs. Scales (Alorlo rinsville), Mrs. C. Biland, Miss A. a Gillies and Miss X. Peterson. Mrs. 1_ Hubert Hammond was the accompanist. | The junior circle had arranged an antique shawl parade, which included i. Spanish, Shetland, Indian, Fgvptian, L' Italian, Paisley, Stuart Tartan, Cashmere and lace shawls. These were de- - scribed by Miss J Ward. «. ,e largo birthday ?akc, donated by : Mrs. T.
