GIRLS' CHURCH SERVICE
FRIENDLY SOCIETY MEMBERS ALL BRANCHES REPRESENTED __ i There was a large attendance of members of tho Girls' Friendly Society at St. Matthew's Church on Sunday 1 night, when a servico was held by the Rev. G. V. Gerard. All branches of , tho society wero represented, twelve ' of which brought their banners, which were placed at tho altar during tho • service. ; An inspiring sermon was preached j by Archbishop Averill, tho text being j "Little children keep yourselves from j idols." In the course of his sermon | the Archbishop spoko of tho difference j between liberty and freedom. i At tho end of the servico tho leaders of tho different branches of the society | carried their banners down the church | in procession. Later members and [ friends adjourned to the crypt, where j light refreshments were served.
