SCENE AT ACRE GAOL " CONDEMNED MAN'S SONG JERUSALEM. Jp.ne 29 In spite of efforts continued all night by influential Jewish organisations to procure a reprieve, Solomon ben Joseph, alleged to be the first Jew executed in Jerusalem Bince the destruction o£ the temple in 70 A.D., was hanged at the Acre gaol to-day. Ho had been, convicted of firing on a bus in Jerusalem. Joseph went to hit? death, singing a Nationalist song. Ten of his former Revisionist comrades wero permitted to remove tho body from the prison, and were accompanied by a police guard to a place of burial. Two hundred Jews demonstrated at Td-a-viv and clashed with the police, who made a baton charge and injured 12 of the rioters. Shops were 'closed as a protest, after which the ci\rfew was enforced.
