DISPLAY OF FENCING

NAVY TEAM AT HAMILTON [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Aursday Members of the Auckland Swords Club and a number of fencers from H.M.S. Leander visited Hamilton this evening and gave a display of fencing in the Drill Hall. The party comprised two members from the Leander and two from tho club, the. visit having been arranged by Mr. C. Canty, of St. Peter's School, Cambridge. Mr. Canty has been instructing the Second Medium Battery in the art and, with the object of allowing the Hamilton team to see experts in action, obtained the services of the Auckland members. It is hoped that a Hamilton team will be advanced sufficiently to take part in the New Zealand championship tournament to be held in Christchurch toward the end of the year.
