CANADIAN PAINTINGS
ART GALLERY EXHIBITION The exhibition of Canadian paintings, which was opened at the Art Gallery last week, continues to attract large attendances. It is estimated that the exhibition has been visited by 1831 people, the daily average being 261. Interest has been stimulated by the note of modernity which is prominent in tho collection and the display lias aroused considerable controversy regarding the merits of this type of painting.
