GOVERNMENT ACTION URGED WORK ON UNOCCUPIED LAND [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WANGANUI, Wednesday County council representatives on the No. 8 Highway District Council to-day discussed means of dealing with ragwort. It was decided to urge the Government to assume the responsibility and to take control of noxious weeds on unoccupied native land, unoccupied Crown land, Stato forest reserves, and land of indigent occupiers. It was also urged that men be made available from public works during the season for a period of from six weeks to two months for spraying. A committee was also appointed to confer with the Government from time to time.
