RIFLE SHOOTING
WHANGAREI DEFENCE CLUB i [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHANGAREI, Monday The members of the Whangarei Defence Rifle Club commenced yesterday a competition for a trophy donated by Weston Bros., the conditions being the highest aggregate lor the best four out of six shoots at 500 and (>OO yards. The conditions were good and (lie following were the best scores:—G. Neville, 19, 48—97; W. Norrts, 49, 47—00; E. A. Foot. 45, 43 (handicap (J) —91; W. Boreham, 47, 10—93; J. Litchfield, 45, 45 90; J. H. Ashton, 40, 42—88; J. INorriß, 40, 41—87.
