SICKNESS IN SCHOOLS

Sir, —While I quite agree with your correspondent Daisy M. Webber re gargling by the children and the fumigation of the schoolrooms, there is something which would prevent all the ailments mentioned, namely: The heating of the schoolrooms. How can children or teachers take an interest in lessons when feet and fingers are almost frozen? There should also be a room for drying wet clothes. All children are not prepared for wet weather, and their clothes, on reaching school, are wet and most uncomfortable. We had an exceptionally dry summer and may have a very wet winter. Comfort.
