HIGHER COSTS BURDEN A deficit of £4lB is recorded for the last -financial year in the, annual report of the Manurewa Children's Home (Baptist Union). Increases of £261 in wages and £166 in the cost of provisions are considered to account for the., deficiency. The report states that an immediate expenditure of £2500 on additions, alterations and maintenance will have to be faced. A sum of £1926 has been set aside for this purpose and the co-operation of churches is asked to provide the balance.
