Mercer at the annual meeting of subscribers to the Hamilton library last evening. The Mayor, Mr. H. D. Caro, who presided, said that it was probable a new library would be provided befure long. If the P6st and Telegraph Department adhered to its decision to retain the old Courthouse site for-the new chief post office, and he thought it would, the present library would be removed and the site would be beautified and would provide an open space between [Victoria Street and the Waikato River. !A new library would then be erected on Garden Place.
