CALL FOR 31,000 MEN TWO THOUSAND PILOTS GREAT RECRUITING CAMPAIGN (Received Juno 21, 12.35 a.m.) LONDON, June 23 The Air Minister, Sir Kingsley Wood, to-day launched the biggest Royal Air Force campaign in history when he appealed for 31,000 men, equal to the entire Air Force personnel prior to its expansion. The Royal Air Force needs 2000 pilots, 5-50 observers and 26,000 skilled and unskilled men. The pilots are offered a four years' commission. The majority of the observers will be recruited direct from civil life.
