ESTIMATE OF £360,000 LARGE BUTTER EXPORTS Dairy farmers in the Auckland Province will share largely in the sum to be distributed as a result of the increase in the current season's basic guaranteed prices for dairy produce as announced by the- Minister of ing, the Hon. W. Nash, at New Plymouth yesterday. Of the distribution of £8J5,349 it is estimated that roughly something over £.'360,000 will be disbursed among suppliers of dairy companies which ship their produce through the Port of Auckland. Butter exports through Auckland were approximately 61 per cent of the total shipments from New Zealand last season, while chee.so from the Auckland Province was about 17 per cent of the Dominion's total export. Applying those percentages to the current season's estimated production, exports through Auckland will bo approximately 3,440,400 boxes of butter and 199,900 crates of cheese. On a butter-fat basis the extra pay-out of jd per lb. will mean slightly over £334,000 additional for butter suppliers and about £26,400 moro for cheese suppliers.
