NEW CLUBS AFFILIATED
Seven new cinbs were affiliated to the New Zealand Golf Association at the monthly meeting of the council in Wellington this week. They were Chisholm Park (Pnnedin). Korakonui (Te Awamutu). Ohal (Southland), Rockville (Nelson), Taita (Wellington), Urenui (Taranaki) and Victoria Valley (Kaitaia). , , „ . . The Lyttelton Club notifled that It had changed its name to Charters Bay, and the resignation of the Oxford Club (Canterbury) wa* received. A sub-committee, consisting of Messrs. W. A. Kiely. J. C. Peacock, and J H. Drake, who had been appointed to inquire into the possibilities of a tournament for the 1940 Centennial Exhibition, submitted their report. After this had been considered, it was decided to send a copy to the advisory committee*. • It was decided to give the Timaru Clnb another opportunity of the South Island close amateur championship, and, if they did not wish to do -so, to accept th* offer of the Harewood Clnb, Christchurch, The Manawatu Clnb reported that the North Island close- amateur championship tournament had proved a definite success.
