M. Noble said the position lb Was that about 3000 acres in the %. ]?iako River watershed had been gaz-* h etted out of the Taupiri board's terri- £ tory, and efforts were being made to % have the land included in tho Thames Valley Drainage Board's area. In the j* meantime no local body had jurisdic- -- tion over the watershed, and the 5 settlers were suffering inconvenience * through the blockage of tho streams. * /Mr. Noble said he had made tempo- £ rary arrangements for clearing work to £ be done, and this would afford the £ settlers some relief until the Thames | Valley board could assume control of t* the watershed.
