MOTOR TRADE TOURNEY COMPETITIONS NEXT WEEK PLAYERS IN TEAMS' MATCH The first animal golf tournament of the Auckland motor trade will be held at the Akarana Club's links on Wednesday next, when seven competitions will be decided Games will commence at 11 a.m. and players who have not teed off by 2 p.m. will not be permitted to take part. Starting times for competitors may bo entered at Dominion Motors, Limited. The programme is as follows:—•

(1) New Zealand Observer Cup, 18 holes, four-bail best-ball.—This is to be contested annually by a team of six players representing the retail motor trade nnd a combined team of six players representing wholesale parts and accessories merchants, major oil companies and wholesale tyre distributors. (2) Inter-house Teams Challenge Cup, pairs aggregate Stableford, .18 holes handicap.— Each firm may nominate one team of two players, or two firms not having two players on their staff may nominate a combined team of two players, providing that no firm is represented in more than one team. Winners may bo challenged, (3) IS Holes Medal Cross.—Trophy to the value of. £1 Is. (4) 38 Holes Medal Net.—Trophy to the value of. £1 Is. (5) 18 Holes Stableford Handicap.—Trophy donated by Messrs. Walker and Hall. (6) Four-ball Best-ball Bogey.—Two trophies to the value of £1 Is each. (7) One-shot Competition.—Trophy to the value of £1 Is. AKARANA LADIES' CLUB • Following were the best scores returned in the L.G.U. match played yesterday by members of the Akarana Ladies' Golf Club: —Senior: Miss O. Darrach, 101, 17 —84. Junior: Mrs. M. Russell, 101, 25—70. The C grade monthly medal competition was won by Mrs. Merryweather with a score of 117, 36—St. In the play-off of tho Junior threo-round stroke competition the scores were:—Mrs. F. McKelvey beat Mrs. R. B. Allen, 2 and 1; Mrs. S. Keys won from Mrs, Eyre by default : Mrs. E. M. Hardley beat Mrs. C. D'Authreau. r> and 3; Mrs. L. J. Campbell won from Mrs. P.
