OCCASIONAL RAIN MODERATE TEMPERATURES 3 The weather report and forecast- for New Zealand issued by the Government meteorologist last evening were as follows : —Yesterday's depression has passed away eastwards. An anti- ■ % cyclone of slight intensity is passing in the far north. A fresh, but shallow depression is advancing across tlie Tasmaa Sea. The forecast is for westerly and - south-westerly winds at first, mainly light to moderate in eastern districts and strong in western districts. v winds turning to west or north-west 1 and freshening about and south of the ' Cook Strait. Seas rather rough to rought on the West Coast; elsewhere slight to moderate, but later rising in' Cook and Foveaux Straits. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong winds between south-west and north-west and rather rough to rough seas. The weather is likely to be changeable in western and far southern districts, with v occasional rain at many places. Elsewhere fair to fine. Temperatures cool to moderate.
