MINORITY IN GERMANY discrimination alleged LOT GROWING WORSE (Received June 8, 6.60 p.m.) Times Cable LONDON, June 8 If the Czech Government has not succeeded in satisfying the needs of the 3,500,000 Sudeten Germans, neither has the German Government succeeded in creating a contented minority out of the 1,500,000 Poles in Germany, says the Berlin correspondent of the Times.

This is made clear in a memorandum presented to Dr. Wilhelm Frick, Minister of the Interior, by the League of Poles in Germany, protesting against the cultural, economic and religious discrimination under which, it is claimed, the Polish minority still suffers. , _ The memorandum says the position of the Poles since Herr Hitler's declaration last year respecting Polish minority rights has not improved; on the contrary, it is notably worse. Poles are unable to obtain work unless they belong to the German Labour Front. Poles also are constantly being pressed to join German political organisations, and they are not in a position to take part in municipal public life, to which they have no access, either through voting or through representatives.

CZECH PROPOSALS NO TERRITORIAL AUTONOMY SECTIONAL BUDGET SCHEME (Received June 8, 5.5 p.m.) PRAGiTTE, June 8 Dr. Ivan Derer, Minister of Justice, disclosed in a newspaper interview that territorial autonomy is not being granted to any minorities, but largescale cultural autonomy is envisioned. The Budget will be drawn up in seotions, giving each nationality a share in Government contracts, and public works will be divided proportionately.
