CHARGES OF FRAUD | PROMINENT MEN ARRESTED LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY MEMBER FORMER NEW GUARD LEADER By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Koceived June 9, 12.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, June S A mild sensation was caused in political and legal circles to-night by the arrest of Eric Campbell, aged 45, solicitor, the former leader of the New Guard, Brigadier-Gen-eral Herbert William Lloyd, aged 54, member for Mosman in the Legislative Assembly, and Richard Arthur Duesbury, accountant. The charges were that, between August, 1933, and May, 1938, they conspired to cheat and defraud Dumonier Laboratories, Limited, of large sums of money, and to defraud that company, and other persons who should be entitled to enforce their rights to obtain payment, of unpaid capital of 19s a share on 4500 shares.
The men were released on bail of £SOO each. They will appear before the Court to-morrow.
