OBITUARY
MR. R. W. WILSON The death has occurred of Mr. Robert William Wilson, for many years a resident of Thames and nn old identity of the district. Mr. Wilson, who was 73 years of age, was born in Auckland, but was taken shortly afterwards by his parents to Thames during the rush to the goldfields. Ho lived at Thames for more than 50 years and was a member of the Thames Naval Brass Band and in his younger days played for the Wanderers' Football Club. Mr. Wilson married the eldest daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Brinkley, of Te Aroha. He is survived by his wife, two sons and six daughters. MBS. M. A. R. SHANKS [by telegraph OWN correspondent] •TAURANGA, Wednesday The death has occurred of Mrs. Mary Ami "liamsay Shanks. She was born in I'.dinburgh and came to New Zealand 28 years ago. Four years ago Mr. and Mrs. Shanks came to Tauranga from Dunedin. Mrs. Shanks took a keen interest in the Girl Guide movement. She is-survived by h?f husband.
