GERMANY'S STRENGTH
FRANCE LOSES ADVANTAGE MARSHAL PETAIN'S WARNING PABIS, May 30 "France has now lost the advantage gained by her victory in the Great War. Germany to-day is at least as strong as 1914," declared Marshal Petain, who, though 82, is still a leading member of tho Supremo War Council. Marshal Petain told ex-servicemen that Germany, by tearing up the Treaty of Versailles, had secured advantages which otherwise would have required a victorious campaign. "We must face the consequences of the change," lie said. "We. must recapture France's war-time spirit and end our political quarrels."
