SLOVAK PARTY

DE. HODZA'S ADDRESS QUESTION OF AUTONOMY DEMAND INOPPORTUNE NATION'S INDEPENDENCE By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright PRAGUE, June 6 The Prime Minister of Czechoslovakia, Dr. Hodza, addressed a large assembly at Bratislava, from the same balcony from which Father Hlinka, leader of the Slovakian People's Party, spoke yesterday. Dr. Hodza declared that Father Hlinka and other leaders were trying to deceive the world by demanding autonomy, but they wore in a minority. "You who represent the majority of the Slovaks must ask yourselves whether wo are capable of maintaining independence," said Dr. Hodza. To this there were shouts of "Yes." The Prime Minister added: "When necessary we will show the world that wo are worthy of independence. We can do it. Our heroic stand has been recognised by Britain, France and America."

It is understood that Herr Henlein met Herr Hitler yesterday, says a message from Berlin.
