TE AKAU RABBIT BOARD - [ [rnOM OUR own correspondent] TUAKAU. Tuesday "This board is in an excellent financial position. It is doubtful whether there is' any other local body in the country better situated," said the chairman, Mr. I£. Nolan, at a meeting of the Te Akau North Rabbit Board. Since 1935, the Raglan County Council has subsidised the board to-the extent of £4BO per annum- for noxious weeds control. The council has now decided, to appoint an inspector of its own and dispense with the services of the board a St Mr. Nolan said that, even without the help of the council's subsidy, the board would not need to raise the rate above three farthings, as in previous vears. The board had a credit balance of £IOOO, and a further £IOOO was due as Government subsidy.
