UNUSUAL REQUEST
"This is the first occasion in my experience of hearings before the Court of Arbitration on which such a request has boon mado," said Mr. W. J. Mountjoy, agent for the employers, in expressing surprise during the hearing of tho Dominion chemists' industrial dispute in the Second Court of Arbitration at Wellington, that the advocate for the workers, Mr. F. D. Cornwell should ask that the witnesses be orderod to stay outside the court until called. Mr. Justice Hunter said that Mr. Cornwall was quite entitled to make the request. Mr. Mountjoy agreed that it was in order, but said he had never known it to have been made previously.
