WAITEMATA SOCIETY NORTHCOTE FIELD DAY The field day held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Leefe, in Sylvan Avenue, Northcote, under the auspices of the Waitemata Horticultural Society, was attended by a representative gathering from the North Shore areas. The outing, which was favoured by glorious sunshine, was most successful and greatly enjoyed. In the absence of the president, Mr. J. L. Hanna, the secretary, Mr. H. N. Leefe, welcomed. Mr. R. L. Thornton, of Auckland, who gave a demonstration of pruning fruit trees, shrubs and roses.' Afternoon tea was served by a committee comprising Mrs. K. E. Cowie, Mrs. H. N. Leefe, Mrs. A. E. H. Harrison, Mrs. E. A. Campbell, Mrs. A. Oldbury, Mrs. J. Prickett, Mrs. K. R. Taylor, Mrs. F. H. Woodhouse and Miss G. Bell. Tho Takapuna area was represented by Dr. 0. W. Parr, Mrs. A. M. Seaman, Mrs. J. Garfield Stewart, Miss Rushbrook, Miss Barron, Miss Somervillo, Messrs. Hay thorn and Stewart. From Bavswater were: —Major and Mrs. H. Whitehorn, Mr. and Mrs. Colhoun, and Mr. and Mrs. Holmes. Northcote members included Mr. and Mrs. D. P. O'Leary, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. H. Harrison, Captain and Mrs. J. Brindle, Mrs. J. Major, Mrs. E. A. Campbell, Mrs. C. Beecher, Mrs. A. Oldbury, Miss Adams, Miss M. Weeks, Miss M. 10. Shutes and Mr. W. J. Wernham. Birkenhead members present were: Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Lawson. Mrs. F. H. Woodhouse, Mrs. K. R. Taylor, Mrs. J. Prickett and Miss G. Bell. Glenfield representatives were: Mrs. J. R. Oates, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Burton, Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Suckling, Miss Jean Gcddes and Miss R. Wilson; and from Beach Haven were M rs. Johnson, Miss Collins and Mrs. W. Barker.
