Threo furlongs from homo JUegnl opened up a gap from Gay Lady and Quest and Attain put in telling work in bridging tho gap to the leaders. A furlong from home Attain was in ft position to tackle Gay Lady and Kogal. The struggle was short and sharp; Attain went on to win.in very impressive style from Gay Lady, llegal, Peter 13ee and Quest. Recent Recruit lor M, Holmes The winner recently joined M. Holmes' team and ou this showing is above the average. Gay Lady gave her best display to date. l?egal was made much,, use of and possibly the best of tho unplaced division may prove to bo Acuity and Mongolian. - Tho All Aged Stakes provided a great race. It was won by the champion three-year-old, Horse Power, who finished very gamely. Three Bells went to the lead from Bayard, Great Divide, Horse Power, Frisco Boy, Colonel Grattan and Ginger Jack, with Indianapolis bringing up the rear. Grc£\t Divide next went to the front, with Three Bolls, and they were closely followed by Bayard and Horse Power, Ginger Jack and Colonel Grattan, Indianapolis still being last. Into the straight caino Great Divide, jusfc ahead of Horse Power, Ginger Jack and Frisco Boy. with Pot Luck and Indianapolis coming last from the back. At the distance post Horse Power had Great Divide beaten, but immediately Ginger Jack put in his claim. Stride for* stride the pair battled out the finish and Horse Power held the advantage of a head to the post. Colonel Grattan was three lengths away, but ..only half a length ahead of Frisco Boy, who was closely attended by ludiauapolis and I'ot Luck, One-horse Affair Ferry Post made a one-horse race of the Acton Handicap. He was first away and for a mile and a-half was fittlo 'change in the order of 1 erry Post; Philario and Donor, who had lost ground at the start, Golden Moness, jßay FJyer and Moana Tama. In winning the New Zealand Sapling Stakes, Bed ltock, the all but outsider of the field, proved Jiiniselt a deadgame racehorse and returned his supporters a dividend approaching half a century. In the first three furlongs, the leaders were liowi, Coquette, Revision and Scenic Gem, but then Bed Bock raced to the lead and showed the way down the back and into the straight, most prominent of the others being Aldershot, Scenic Gem, Star Ace, lievision and Zingarrie. At the distance Aldershot issued a challenge and, with Bed Bock, he drew away from the field. Bed Bock held on to win by a neck from Aldershot, who was two lengths ahead of Special Kdition. Bed Bock fairly beat the field, but matters might have been more -interesting had Special Edition not lost ground at the start. Zingarrie went a fair race, and tho best of the others was Coquette.
