KING'S "BIRTHDAY
CEREMONIAL PARADE IMPRESSIVE SPECTACLE MANY SPECTATORS PRESENT Of great interest to somo thousands of men, women and children was the ceremonial parade held in the Auckland Domain yesterday morning in honour of the King's Birthday. Perfect weather prevailed for the impressive and colourful spectacle. The sloping hillsides made a picturesque setting to the level ground on which the parade was held, and formed a natural vantage point for many of the spectators. Her Excellency Viscountess Galway was present, and with her arrived the Lady Evelyn Drummond, whose husband, Rear-Admiral the Hon. E. R. Drummond, took the salute. Captain R. Stuart French, A.D.C. and Mrs. R. G. G. Byron wore also in the official party. Her Excellency was accompanied by her children, the Hon. Simon Monckton-Arundel and the Hons. Mary, Celia and Isabel Monckton. Others present wero tho Mayor and Mayoress, Sir Ernest and Lady Davis, who were accompanied by their niece, Miss Irma Mitchell, and the Town Clerk, Mr. J. Melling, and Mrs. O. H. Mead, whoso husband, Colonel Mead, Officer Commanding the Northern Military District, was in charge of the parade.
