ANNUAL FIXTURE NORTHCOTE BRANCH LARGE NUMBER OF GUESTS The annual ball of the Northcote branch of the Plunket Society was held last night in the King's Theatre at Northcote. The president, Mrs. A. Campbell, who wore a frock of black cire lace and silver lame, was assisted as hostess by the vice-presidents, Mrs. W. E. Carter, wearing figured crepe roinaine, Mrs. A. W. Christmas, in midnight blue cloquo and gold, Mrs. W. F. Ward, blue silk velvet and silver lame, and Mrs. D. H. Opperman, midnight blue cloque. The Auckland centre of the society was represented by the president, Mrs. J. C. Allan, wearing a frock of black cloque and diamante; Mrs. J. H. Prater, a member of the executive, in black crinkled crepe and white gardenias; and Mrs. J. H. Frater, the chairman of the honorary advisory board. The Birkenhead Plunket committee was represented by the president, Mrs. C. Eric Chambers, wearing black cloque; the secretary, Mrs. L. T. Hayman, in pink marocain; the treasurer, Mrs. C. E. Napier, in striped velvet; and Mrs. D. Stanton, in black georgette and lace. Some of the Guests The gathering included the first honorary medical adviser, Dr. J. W. Craven, medical superintendent of the Auckland Hospital, and Mrs. Craven, the latter wearing floral georgette; tho present honorary medical advisers, Dr. R. G. Dudding and Dr. K. H. Holdgate; Mrs. M. S. James, wearing black floral cloque; Mrs. K. H. Holdgate, in black sequins; the Mayoress of Northcote, Mrs. R. Martin, in amethyst satin and white fur wrap; Mrs. 11. L. R. Isherwood, in turquoise velvet; Mrs. I. W. Muirhead, black floral georgette; and Mrs. N. E. Heath, white floral georgette. The decoration of the supper tables was the -work of Mrs. J. Ij. Hnrrna, Mrs. A. W. Christmas, Mrs. R. K. Cadness and Mrs. P. C. Cross. The wall programmes and posters, in the red and white Plunket colours, were tho work of Mrs. R. G. Skcates. The floor arrangements were in the charge of Mr. A. W. Christmas. The dance music was played by an orchestra under Mr. G. Crawford. Exhibition dances were given by Mr. Jock Hutchison and Miss M, J. Barrett, of the Mabel Johnson School of Dancing. Songs were given by Mr. Leslie Russell. The accompanist was Mrs. T. Joll. The prizes for competition dances, donated by Messrs. A. W. Christmas, W. E.
