THE KING AND QUEEN PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFETY TROOPS TO PATROL STREETS PARIS, May 27 Unprecedented measures to protect King George and Queen Elizabeth during their visit to Paris were decided upon to-day at a joint meeting of the heads of the Surete and Scotland Yard. An extensive purge of undesirable foreigners is being carried out and will bo intensified immediately. While the Royal processions are in progress police in aeroplanes will fly over the routes, making wireless contact with headquarters by means of telephones. Large bodies of troops are ' being drafted to Paris in order to patrol the routes. All residents in buildings on routes along which Their Majesties will pass must obtain police passes, otherwise they will not be able to leave or enter during the visit. Nobody is to be allowed to stand at a window overlooking the routes unless the owner. of the property makes a declaration vouching for their integrity. Policemen will be stationed at the doors of all rooms overlooking the routes and will inspect the passes of all entering. Shops and offices must bo vacated an hour before the King and Queen pass. Only ground floors and cafes will be permitted to be open and no raised •vantage points may be erected.
