COUNTRY QUOTATIONS COMPETITION AT KAMO. CATTLE AND PIGS IN DEMAND There was a good entry of cattle and pigs at a sale held by Walter Wakelin at Kamo. Both classes of stock met with a brisk market from a good bench of buyers. Dairy cattle, ffvhich were penned in ' large numbers, sold readily, the top price being £9 for a choice Shorthorn cow. There was a large attendance of buyers, and tho herd, which was submitted in first-class condition, met with a keen inquiry. A satisfactory clearance resulted. TE KOWHAI CLEARANCE A clearing sale was held by G. W. Vercoe and Company, Limited, on account of ilr. C. W. Gifford at Te Kowhai. The cows came forward in good condition, and sold under keen competition. The whole herd averaged ill 2s Cd. The heifers also met with a keen inquiry, and realised very satisfactory prices. The herd, which comprised Jersey and Jersey-cross cows, came forward in good order, and brought satisfactory competition i from a good attendance of buyers. The herd I of 28 averaged £9 3s. HUKERENUI YARDING The North Auckland Farmers' Co-opera-tive, Limited, reports that it held a sale at Hukerenui. There was a fair yarding, with a good bench of buyers. Competition was keen throughout. Springing cows (no good qnality beasts were penned) made from £4 t>S to £6; fat cows, £5 18s to £7 2s; boner cows, £2 5s to £3 19s; boner bulls, £3 to £4 12s (3d; cows and calves, £6; run cows, £3 10s to £4 16s; 18-month steers* £4 19s; yearling heifers, Shorthorn, £3 3ai yearling steers, small, £2.

HIGH DAIRY CATTLE PRICES Alfred Buckland and Sons, Limited, re* ports having held a clearing sale of Messrs. Worthington Brothers' dairy herd at Maungaturoto. All the stock Sold at satisfactory figures. The herd consisted of grade Jersey and Jersey-Shorthorn-cross cows, and thesa averaged, including" a few unsound coivs, £lO 48. The top price was £ls 10s. Both thesa figures are stated to be records, as far as this district is concerned, for many years* Bidding was spirited and was maintained until the end.
