BRITISH TITLE PLAY THIRD ROUND RESULTS HATTERSLEY BEATS PETERS A DEVASTATING RUN By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received May 27, 12.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 20 The Australian golfer H. W. Hattersley, in the third round of the amateur championship at Troon yesterday, defeated Gordon Peters, a member of the British Walker Cup team, Hattersley scored an overwhelming success, winning 4 and 2 after the match had been square at the turn. He then had a devastating run of 3, 3, 4, 2, 4, 4 for the seven holes, the game finishing at the sixteenth.

The length of these holes, starting with the tenth, is as follows: —443 yards, 313, 372, 394, IJO, 443 and 566. Hattersley scored birdies at the tenth, eleventh, fourteenth and sixteenth holes. The scratch score of the course is 74, and this is also the par. In other games in the third round, 0. R. Yates (America) defeated John J. F. Pennink, English champion, 3 and 2. Hector Thomson beat Grant Govan 1 up. The American Johnny Goodman beat Briscoe, 6 and 5. The Cambridge blue, Jocelyn Walker, defeated the American Reynold Smith, 2 up. Ewing (Ireland) defeated Ouimet, one up. In the fourth round to-day Hattersley beat Neill, 2 and 1; McGregor beat Ryan (Australia), 2 and 1.
