ANOTHER NUFFIELD GIFT
£IO,OOO TO LONDON HOSPITAL RECENT HOLD-UP ATTEMPT (Received May 20, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 20 Viscount Nuffield has given £]o,ooo to the London Hospital for the X-ray diagnosis department. In spite of police reticence the Press Association learns that John Bruce Thornton, -who was arrested following an attempted hold-up of Lord Nuffield in his office last night by two other men, is aged 50. His address is given as "Yacht Pierette, Pin Mill, Ipswich." The yacht has been seized.
