HAMILTON BEATS RAYNER [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Thursday In a professional light-weight boxing contest at the Wellington Town HalJ to-night Billy Hamilton, 9st. ; 81b., light-weight champion of Victoria, defeated Clarrio Kay nor, 9st. 51b.; early in the second round. Hamilton dealt out heavy punishment and put Rayner down for a count of eight in the first round. t t \ Rayner wns outclassed in the second round. He went down under a shower of blows, claiming he had been hit low. Doctors who examined him found no traces of a foul and the contest was awarded to Hamilton. VICTORY FOR ADAMS > MATCH AGAJNST BROWN l[nv TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday Jn a 12-round welter-weight professional boxing contest Les. Adams. lOst. 41b., beat Barney Brown, lOst. 61b. It was a sterling fight, in which Adams was always superior.
