USE OF MODERN FURNITURE ADDRESS TO CLUB MEMBERS An address on interior decorating was given by Mrs. Helen Cosset at a meeting of the arts and era Its circle of the Lyceum Club on Tuesday morning. She said that the modern furniture was beautiful and a great improvement on what was known as modernistic furniture. One of tho outstanding merits of the modern furniture was fitness to purpose, while it also possessed the advantage of being a good "mixer," added Mrs. Cosset. A leading woman decorator in London was tho first to mix modern, old and period iurniture, which she had done with marked success. . . Taking room by room in a modern home, Mrs. Cosset showed attractive decorative treatment from ceiling to floor, and pointed out that every room had to retain a dignified character and personality. _ Mrs. Gosset also dealt with modern table decorations in which she suggested a colour scheme for hot weather and another for cold. Tho convenor, Dr. Gladys Rowley, thanked Mrs. Gosset for her address.
