HELIUM FOR GERMANY
TALKS AT WASHINGTON (Received May 22, 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, May 21 The Gorman Zeppelin commander, Dr. Eckener, accompanied by the German Ambassador, Herr Dieckhoff, conferred with President Roosevelt to-day about helium supplies. All withheld details of the conversation. Dr. Eckener sailed later for Germany. He said he was still hopeful of obtaining helium, without which the peacetime use of the airship would be ended.
